About Mary

Mary is one of approximately 1000 therapists in North America who have received in-depth training and certification for effectively treating lymphedema.  She has completed specialized training to massage muscles located in the mouth, jaw, neck, and head, for pathologies such as TMJ dysfunction.  Mary has also completed specialty training in breast/chest massage for women, men and young adults, oncology massage, reiki, Trager and craniosacral therapy.  Mary holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Central Florida, has been a Washington State massage therapist and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association for over 19 years.   To create balance in her life, Mary enjoys cycling, hiking, camping, and traveling with her two children and spouse.  She also loves to spend time gardening with her two gray tabbies and on sunny days can be found reading in her favorite hammock chair .

Mary's work is inspired by the Japanese word “Enso”, a manifestation of one or two brush strokes forming a Zen circle, expressing a moment when the mind is free to let the body create, allowing the individual to contemplate enlightenment.   To this end, much of Mary’s technique is performed in a gentle, rhythmic, circular fashion allowing the client to deeply relax and find a quite inner space for reflection and self-healing.
